Included is the Aviva Stadium in Ireland where the construction was awarded in three packages: Enabling Works; Foundations, and; Stadium Construction and ByrneLooby we were involved in all phases of the work from demolition of the old Lansdowne Road Stadium to construction of the new €365M, 50,000 capacity Aviva stadium.  A unique feature of the old stadium is the rail line which ran under the West Stand and presented a real challenge for its safe demolition and the construction of the new stand.

There are a number of drivers which contribute to the growing demand for reliable infrastructure.  It is a fundamental requirement for a village, town or city to function as well as the motorways, rail netwroks, airports and marine interconnectivity between each of them servicing travel for all walks of life - business and leisure.  ByrneLooby's infrastructure projects help to support the development needed to meet current and future demand of transportation to allow towns and cities to function efficiently.  Nowadays, environmental regulations call for increasingly more stringent design parameters which can often present significant challenges, however, ByrneLooby is fortunate to have at its disposal a team of experts who embrace such projects to deliver sustainable solutions.  

In partnership with ASCO, ByrneLooby produced the conceptual and detailed civil, structural, geotechnical and M&E design associated with the Utility Service Tunnels, Storm Water Tunnels and Foul Sewer Tunnels.  The tunnels were to be constructed as part of the 12km Lusail Expressway which was to link the heart of Doha with the North of the city.  The Scope of Work included 1 km of 1m diameter foul sewer, 5km of combined 3m and 2.4m diameter utility service tunnels and storm water tunnels.  The utility service and stormwater tunnels require the construction of 15 large 7.5m diameter permanent shafts, constructed within 11m diameter temporary secant pile shafts.  Also included was the design associated with all tunnel and shaft linings, cable supports, ventilation system , drainage, heat detection, alarms, lighting, security and low voltage power supply.
